đź”” The Village Bell Monthly Update from Gratitude Village Colorado March 2026
Gratitude Village Colorado continues to move from vision toward reality as more future residents, supporters, and partners gather around the idea of a more connected way of living. In this March 2026 update, we share progress on land exploration, community growth, and the development of a mixed-income, Net Zero cohousing neighborhood designed around belonging, sustainability, and accessibility. As conversations with municipalities and development partners continue, the village itself is already beginning to form through shared meals, information sessions, and the growing relationships between future neighbors.

đź”” The Village Bell Monthly Update from Gratitude Village Colorado
March 2026
When the village bell rings, people gather.
This newsletter is our way of ringing the bell — sharing progress, celebrating community, and inviting others to help bring Gratitude Village to life.
From the Founder’s Porch
Spring is a season of beginnings, and here at Gratitude Village Colorado the sense of forward momentum is growing.
Every month we see new signs that the vision of Gratitude Village resonates with people. More households are exploring the possibility of living in community. Conversations with landowners and municipalities continue. And our board and development advisors are working steadily behind the scenes to move the project toward the next major milestone: securing the right site for our future neighborhood.
One of the things that continues to inspire me is how many people are searching for something deeper than simply a house. They want connection, purpose, sustainability, and a place where neighbors truly know one another. Cohousing offers a path toward that kind of life, and Gratitude Village is bringing that possibility to Colorado.
We still have much work ahead, but step by step the village is beginning to take shape.
— Suzie Shride
Founder & Executive Director
🌎 Why This Village Matters
Across the country, three major challenges are reshaping how people think about housing:
🏠The affordability crisis is making it harder for families, teachers, and young professionals to live in the communities they serve.
🌎 Climate change calls for neighborhoods designed around energy efficiency, walkability, and shared resources.
🤝 The loneliness epidemic is leaving many people feeling disconnected from their neighbors and community.
Gratitude Village Colorado is being created to address all three.
By combining ZeroEnergy homes, mixed-income ownership, and the intentional design of community, Gratitude Village offers a new model for how neighborhoods can support both people and the planet.
Our hope is that this community becomes not only an amazing place to live, but a replicable model that other cities and communities can learn from.
Building the Village
The development of a cohousing community happens in many layers — community, planning, partnerships, and land.
Over the past month we have continued evaluating several potential land opportunities across the west Denver metro region. Our development advisors are helping analyze each site based on zoning compatibility, density potential, walkability, and overall feasibility for a Net Zero cohousing neighborhood.
Meanwhile, interest in the community continues to grow. New Exploring Members are joining monthly information sessions to learn more about the project and about the cohousing model itself. A group of Founding households have already made equity deposits toward their future homes and are actively participating in early conversations about the future neighborhood.
These early relationships are one of the most important ingredients of cohousing. Long before the buildings are constructed, the community itself is already forming.
Voices from the Village
Each month we share reflections from people who are helping bring Gratitude Village to life.
“We moved to Colorado for the mountains and the outdoor lifestyle, but we also wanted our kids to grow up knowing their neighbors. Gratitude Village feels like a place where families can truly belong.”
— Brian & Stacy Miller, future residents
Brian and Stacy and their two young sons were drawn to the vision of a neighborhood where children can safely play together, families share meals, and neighbors support one another. Like many future residents, they are excited about the idea of living in a place where community is intentionally designed into daily life.
Cohousing communities thrive because of the people who choose them. Every month we’ll highlight another voice from the village.

Gather With Us
One of the most exciting parts of creating a cohousing community is gathering together even before the homes exist.
Upcoming opportunities include:
• Monthly information sessions about cohousing and Gratitude Village
• Community gatherings where future residents can get to know each other
• Educational workshops exploring sustainable design and community living
These early gatherings help shape the culture and relationships that will eventually define the neighborhood.
If you’ve been curious about cohousing, we would love to welcome you to an upcoming event.
