February 2026 Newsletter
he February 2026 newsletter highlighted several major milestones for as momentum continues to grow behind the vision for a connected, sustainable, and accessible cohousing community in Colorado. Although the Westminster opportunity did not move forward, the search for land expanded across the Front Range with multiple promising sites under consideration. Membership also continued to grow, with new Founding and Exploring households bringing the community to more than 60 individuals spanning multiple generations. The community gathered in January for the “Get It Built” workshop with cohousing pioneer Charles Durrett, deepening collective understanding of the development process and strengthening relationships among future neighbors. Additional milestones included the expansion of the nonprofit board with experienced development professionals, the approval of GVCO’s 501(c)(3) status, and the launch of new fundraising efforts to help move the project from vision to reality.

Hello Friend,
My apologies for not keeping up with our monthly newsletter this year! It has been a bit hectic but I am getting caught up!
Here are some of the noteworthy happenings from the last month and a half.
Land Update
1.The property we were bidding on in Westminster was awarded to another developer. That was sad but has opened the door to new partnerships and possibilities. The site committee is very actively pursuing half-a-dozen properties spanning the front range including sites in Loveland, Boulder County, Erie, Westminster, Golden, Littleton, Castlerock, Denver and Commerce City. We'll see what comes of it - we know the right parcel of land is out there waiting to be united with us!
New Members
We had several new Founding Households and Exploring Households join us in late January so we now have 13 Founding Households and 19 Exploring Households! That gives us potentially 32 households for our community and approximately 65 individuals! Our members range in age from 10 months to 79 years, and you can learn more about them on our website.
Get It Built Workshop
We held our Get It Built Workshop Jan 24 & 25 with Charles Durrett. We had 32 attendees plus 5 guests. It was great to spend time together as a community (thanks to Hearthstone Cohousing for letting us use their common house to host this event - it was wonderful!) and we learned a bit about the development process. We have more to learn and will be meeting regularly to review the binders we received at the event.
Upcoming Events
If you haven't attended an information session ever (or not recently), I encourage you to attend again! We now offer a monthly IN PERSON event usually at the Lakewood Library on W 20th as well as twice monthly virtual events, and our founders and explorers have committed to attending to help answer questions and let people meet who their future neighbors might be.
Here are the dates and info for the next few upcoming events (more dates can be found on the website)
