Exciting things are happening at Gratitude Village! 🌿✨

Dear Friends,

We now have four committed families who are ready to call this vibrant, sustainable community home, and we’re welcoming new Explorers who are eager to learn more and join us on this journey. Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status is in progress, paving the way for essential funding and partnerships. We’ve also applied for a $100K grant through the Colorado Disability Opportunity Office, a huge step toward making our vision of affordable, accessible cohousing a reality. This month has been filled with inspiring in-person and Zoom meetings, strengthening connections and building momentum. The dream of Gratitude Village is coming to life—let’s keep growing together! 💚🏡

In Gratitude,

How Can You Help?
  1. Donate – even a small amount like $20 or $30 helps (and if you can make it a recurring donation, it adds up, but doesn’t cost you a lot each month)!

  2. Volunteer – if you or someone you know has expertise in an area that might help make our community even better (banking, construction, fund raising, community support, clean building, NetZero, Passive House, LEED, etc.) join our board! We are actively recruiting an additional 2-3 board members for a 2 year term (2025-2027) now and will reach out for another 4-8 members in December 2025 and December 2026 in order to have a full board with staggered term ends.

  3. Follow us – like and follow our social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, or Linked In and share posts and updates with your network.

  4. Subscribe – join our Substack “Notes from the Common House” and read what we’re writing about (send in suggestions for topics, too!)

  5. Connect with your networks - forward our newsletters to families and friends who might be interested in our mission and/or living in and helping create our community.

  6. Share your energy - attend our Zoom and In Person meetings to help spread the enthusiasm for our mission!

  7. Talk it up - schedule an in person meeting for Suzie to present to your network at a place and time that is convenient for you.

  8. Bookmark – bookmark and visit our website regularly as we are always adding new blogs (1-2 a week) and updating information contained therein.

  9. Advocate – reach out to and connect potential donors or partners with Suzie or other board members. Maybe your company has a matching donation program we can tap into!

What is Cohousing?

Are you not quite sure what cohousing is? Do you, like my lovely neighbor, think it's a commune or some hippy throwback thing? Check out this 2 minute trailer for The Best of Both Worlds - a movie about cohousing and its promise for the future.
